HouseLogic

There is a new website that will help home owners make the most of their investment.

The website is www.houselogic.com and is brought to you by the National Association of Realtors.  This website has a great bit of valuable information ranging from cleaning ideas to questions you want to ask before hiring a contractor.

From time to time you will find that I have provided information found on HouseLogic on either my blog, my Face Book page or in a newsletter that goes out to my clients.

This is a great resource that you’ll want to check out!

As always, if you or anyone you know is looking to buy, build or sell, I would love to be of assistance.

My Baby

Okay, so this is not real estate related, but I wanted to share with everyone that it has been one year since Tamara came to call my house home.  She came last year, Super Bowl Weekend.  So the Super Bowl is a reminder of her arrival.

In the beginning she was timid and seemed unsure of what was happening.  I think that had to do with the fact that this was her 4th home since coming off of the race track.  She went to a foster dad, and was adopted along with another grey by a couple that decided they wanted to have kids and not a dog.  So the poor thing went back to a foster.  And then came here!

She loves to sleep as you can see from the photos!  And she loves my blankets.  I have “lost” several to her since her arrival.  But that’s okay, because she loves me as much as she loves her blankets and creature comforts and it goes both ways.

There is nothing like walking in the door to have her standing there, tail wagging and very happy to see me!  It’s not unusual for me to pull up to the house and she is sitting in the window, as if she knew I was on my way & she is watching for me.

If you would like more information about rescuing retired grey hounds contact Greyhound Pets of America

And as always, if you know of anyone looking to buy, build or sell I would love to be of assistance.

Serving Your Family Needs First

So Much To Know…

Yesterday I posted an article from Houselogic.com in regards to Homeowners Insurance.

I am sure that if you read it you had questions or an AHA moment thinking that you need to do or should have done some of what the author had talked about.

Performing a check up of your insurance situation is a great idea.  You may be surprised at what you find or at the amount of money you save by doing this.

I will admit I am not one for change, if it’s not broke don’t fix it, was the mentality I had for a while.

Then a great friend started working with a local Insurance Agency and asked for my business.  I intended to get the info on my current coverage to her asap, but life got in the way & I failed at that.  Until the day I opened my renewal notice from my previous agent.  My premium had increased by $300.00 for homeowners alone.   And I had no claims.   I also had multi-lines with this company, which meant my vehicles were covered as well.

Immediately I pulled the declaration pages and sent them to Teresa Capps, an agent with Indiana Farm Bureau.  She reviewed my coverage and made recommendations that would ensure I was adequately covered.

In then end I paid less per month and had better coverage than what I previously had.  What stands out about Teresa and the service she offers is the fact that she contacts me to let me know that there is an across the board rate increase that affects all policy holders, or the fact that once I hit that magical age, my premium was going to go down.  She reviews her clients accounts and does what she can to make sure we have the best coverage at the best available price.

I know this is because she actually cares about what she does & the people she helps.  I can honestly say the only communication I ever had from my previous agent was when I made contact in regards to adding/dropping a vehicle, or when I changed from a Renters Policy to a Homeowners Policy.

So if you think it is time for a check up on your Homeowners, Auto or Life contact Teresa Capps at Indiana Farm Bureau, by phone 317-786-3400 or email

And as always, if you or anyone you know of is looking to buy, build or sell, I would love to be of assistance.
